2800 Indians to get employed by Walmart Labs
Where all companies are laying off employees due to the economic losses, Walmart Labs is planning to hire 2800 more employees from India. The 2008-founded company on LinkedIn wrote, “Come what may, at Walmart, we always keep moving.” The company also leased a 250,000 sqft facility in Chennai in the beginning of this year to expand its operations.
It also has offices in Bengaluru and Gurgaon and 2000 out of the 2800 new employees would work in Bengaluru. The Chennai office is to start with the rest 800 employees and is expected to have 2000 employees in 2 years.
Increase in the demand of goods online has recently surged its stock prices. It has over 260 million customers across 11,698 stores in 28 countries and caters to 11 countries through online retail.
The company is also hiring IT professionals to improve the overall experience.
The Indian Walmart Labs team is working to develop supply chain, merchant and customer delivery. Like, NextDay delivery and Optima are making shopping online easier.
Walmart Labs is also trying to revolutionize manufacturing sector, real estate besides retail through its enterprise solutions of Enterprise CIO and analytics platform.
