Ramayan becomes most loved show across the globe beats Big Bang theory and Game of Thrones by a record margin
“Ramayan” has set a world record after 33 years. It became the highest viewed entertainment program globally. Ramayan breaks the records of the final episode of “Game of Thrones” which had 19.3 million views.
The re-telecast of the TV show started on Doordarshan in March after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.
DD National said that 77 million (7.7 crores) people across the globe watched the show on April 16.
DD National posted on the official Twitter handle.

Ramayan was Written, produced, and directed by Ramanand Sagar, It was first aired in the year 1987 on Doordarshan and gained lots of love by the viewers.
In the show Arun Govil played the role of Shree Ram, Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala worked as Devi Sita and Sunil Lahri as Lakshman. Along with that It also starred veteran actors Lalita Pawar as Manthara, Arvind Trivedi as Ravana, and Dara Singh as Hanuman.
Ramayan went off the air on April 18 and from April 19 retelecast of “Uttar Ramayan” started. The final episode of “Uttar Ramayan” will air on Saturday.
Uttar Ramayan will be replaced by another popular series “Shri Krishna”, which is also created by Ramanand Sagar will be coming on air from 3rd May
